 Description

The third of five in the series of Disney's Wonderful World of Reading books featuring adaptations of the original Uncle Remus stories.

Synopsis

Brer Rabbit first is outsmarted by Brer Turtle in a race. He becomes dejected and seeks help from Aunt Mammy-Bammy the wise rabbit. He gets caught by Brer Wolf, Brer Bear, and finally Brer Fox, outsmarting all of them by various methods, thus proving that he is truly smart after all.

 Comments

The drawings are poor and the sentences have gotten way too simple. Its only redeeming value is the intertwined interpretations of the original Uncle Remus stories, including "De Great Rabbit-Terrapin Race", "Brer Rabbit Visits de Witch", and "Brer Rabbit's Money Machine".
