 Variations 

Printings A & B: "Uncle Remus" on cover is black (cover 1a).
Printings C – M: "Uncle Remus" on cover is red (cover 1b).

 Comments 

Since these are the first printings, they contain the original southern dialect. Please note that the first cover style overwent many subtle revisions, including different binding. For the purpose of this page, these subtlties will not be differentiated.
