Yearbook from Cotton Boll High School of Jackson, Mississippi. As the front page states, "By special permission the theme of this Yearbook has been based upon, and the illustrations herein have been adapted from, the original Walt Disney illustrations from the Walt Disney motion picture SONG OF THE SOUTH, copyright 1946 Walt Disney Productions." Indeed, the section dividers of this yearbook are decorated with Disney's Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, Brer Bear, the Tar Baby, and other characters.

 Comments

What a cool yearbook! Having been a yearbook editor myself, this is indeed a rare and special piece of memorabilia. To have Walt Disney grant permission to use his characters is quite an honor and a rarity, making this book quite a valuable collectible. An estimated 1,120 students and faculty were accounted for within this book. I estimate there are probably less than 1,000 copies of this book still in existence.
