Song of the South Fan Card (1946-1950's)

 Title

Song of the South Fan Card

 Release Date

1946–1950's

 Description

A heavy card-stock fan card usually mailed to individuals who wrote fan letters to Disney. Card shows the Brers on their way to the Laughing Place. Caption reads "Brer Bear, Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit from Walt Disney's "Song of the South." Back is blank.

Variations

A version recently was sold by Disney on eBay. Instead of just a blank back, the back showed a picture of Bobby Driscoll and Luana Patten in "director" chairs (see picture). It is believed this is probably the original fan card from 1946-c.1949. The card I have, with a blank backside, was distributed in the 50's, after Driscoll and Patten were no longer pairing up in Disney films.

Details

Dimensions: 9 1/4" x 7 1/4"

 Comments

I also have the original envelope in which this fan card was sent. It is postmarked March 1, 1955.
